On May 18, 2019, in order to actively respond to the activity of "Understanding China", Shen Xuemei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Medical College of Jiangsu University, teachers of the relevant work committees, counselors of all grades and student representatives of Party-affiliated activists visited the Zhenjiang Institute of Agricultural Sciences.
General Secretary Xi Jinping once pointed out that "if China wants to be strong, agriculture must be strong; if China wants to be beautiful, the countryside must be beautiful; if China wants to be rich, the peasants must be rich." In order to have a deeper understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping's thought of "agriculture, countryside and farmers", teachers and students of our college came to Zhenjiang Institute of Agricultural Sciences to study.
First, the medical school visited Zhao Yafu Memorial Hall. Mr. Zhao Yafu devoted himself to the construction of "agriculture, countryside and farmers", compiled millions of words of scientific and technological books for farmers, with making the ordinary people rich as his lifelong pursuit. After learning about Mr. Zhao Yafu's deeds, all teachers and students expressed their sincere praise and admiration for the "Yafu Spirit".
Next, the medical school team visited various planting bases. With the explanations of professional and technical personnel, they learned about the improvement of various crop cultivation technologies in recent years. In the conversation with the surrounding farmers, they have felt the improvement of farmers' quality of life since the reform and opening up.
Subsequently, on the way back to school, summarizing the influence of reform and opening-up in all the aspects of our life , several students had a profound conversation with teachers. They learned about the memorable moments of teachers' experience in reform and opening-up, as well as the changes in teaching concepts and student training of medical schools since the fortieth anniversary of reform and opening-up. At the same time, teachers also talked about and provided valuable suggestions about the construction of the college And the personal development of students .
In the course of today's visit and interactions , we not only have a deeper understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping's thought of "agriculture, countryside and farmers", but also feel the rapid changes of our motherland since the reform and opening up, and we are extremely proud of being Chinese!
