Department of Pathogenic Biology

The Department of pathogenic Biology was established from the Department of Microbiology and the Department of parasitology in August 18, 2006. It possess 12 faculty (9 Ph.D, 2 M.D.), cujus 3 qualified for guiding Ph.D. students and 4 for guiding M.D. students, 4 professors, 2 associate professors, 5 lecturers, 1 teaching assistant. In latest 5 years, it take charge of or take part in 5 projects from the National Natural Science Fund, 1 Project from the Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars of State Education Ministry, 5 projects from the Government Agency of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province, 2 projects from the Professional Research Foundation for Advanced Talents of Jiangsu University, and 1 project from the Bureau of Science and Technology of Zhenjiang City in Jiangsu Province, and each 1 projects of Education Science from the “10^th-five-years Planning” of the government and of the Society of Higher Education of Jiangsu Province. It wined 1 second-grade and 2 third-grade prizes of science-technology progress of Jiangsu Province. It takes Ph.D. courses of Microbiological Engineering, Molecular Pathogenic Biology, Advance in Microbiology, M.D. course of Diagnostic Technology in Pathogenic Biology (excellent master course, Jiangsu Province 2010), and undergraduate courses of Pathogenic Biology (second-grade excellent course, Jiangsu University 2006), Medical Microbiology (excellent adult education course, Jiangsu Province 2010), Microbiological Diagnostics (excellent adult education course, Jiangsu Province 2010), Microbiology and Immunology, Introductory Microbiology and Immunology, Human Parasitology, Food Microbiological  Diagnostics, and Health Microbiology. It edited 9, subedited 8, and edited in part more than 30 textbooks and published more then 80 papers in natural and educational science.
