To all colleges it may concern:
In order to encourage and support international undergraduates to participate in scientific research and social practice as early as possible, continuously improving their innovative spirit and practical ability, Overseas Education College will organize the application for the innovation training program for English-taught international undergraduates in 2022.
1、Requirements for Application
(1) Applicants must be non-graduating English-taught international undergraduates (In order to strengthen the exchange and scientific research cooperation between Chinese and international students, at least 1 non-graduating Chinese student of the same major must be invited to join the team). All the teammates should have a certain sense of innovation, research and exploration spirit, have basic scientific research quality and ability, and be good at independent thinking.
Meanwhile, the applicant should invite 1 instructor for his/ her project, who has rich experience in research and teaching. One instructor can supervise no more than 3 projects at the same time each year.
(2) Each project team consists of 1~4 teammates, including 1~2 project leaders. Each international undergraduate can only apply for 1 project during the school period, and may not participate in 2 projects at the same time.
(3) The experimental training site, instruments and equipment should be adequate for the project.
(4) Only after the completion of his/her project can the project leader graduate.
2、Range of Topics
The projects are not limited to subjects and majors, and topics are selected within a certain range according to students' interests，which include:
(1) Sub-projects in the subject of teachers’ research and technology development (service);
(2) Comprehensive and innovative experiments and training programs in laboratories, training or practice bases;
(3) Invention, creation, design and other production projects;
(4) Professional research and innovation projects, entrepreneurial plans and career planning innovation projects;
(5) School-enterprise cooperation projects;
(6) Social Survey Projects;
(7) Other projects with research and practical value.
3、Application Process and Work Requirements
(1) Application Process
Students’ filling out the application form→Instructors’ review→Preliminary evaluation of the professional school→Final approval from OEC→Projects release
(2) Project Implementation Time
In principle, the project should be finished within 1 year, namely from May 1st,2022 to June 1st, 2023.
(3) Deadline for Application
Please submit the application form to the teaching secretary of respective professional schools before April 18th (Beijing time).
(4) Project Funding
The funding support for a project in the Humanities and Social Sciences is RMB ￥2000 yuan and for a project in other disciplines RMB ￥3000 yuan.
The project fund will be allocated after its approval (30%), mid-term inspection (30%), and completion (40%). The rest will not be allocated if the project does not pass its mid-term inspection.
