Shengjun Wang

Date of Birth

Research Area
autoimune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis and Hashimoto's thyroiditis) and tumor immunology

Primary Course

Professinal Education
Professor Shengjun Wang,Department of Immunology, Jiangsu University. He is a Ph.D. supervisor, and Academic leader of Qinglan Project of Jiangsu province.

Academic Introduction
His research has been focusing on autoimune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis and Hashimoto's thyroiditis) and tumor immunology. Studies in RA paients and animal model have aimed to examine the subset of CD4+T cells and its role in maintaining quality control and homeostasis in the immune system. They are also interested in studying the tumor therapy by biological response modifiers. As Principle Investigator, he has chaired and completed more than 10 national and provincial research projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, and won a number of provincial prizes for his academic achievements. He has published more than 100 academic papers in such prestigious periodicals as PNAS U S A, J Immunol, Cellular Immunology, Onkologie, Cancer Letter, etc. He has supervised more than 20 doctoral and master’s degree candidates.

Scientific Research Item and Achievement
Recent research topics
1. The role of CD4+ Th cells and regulatory T cells in autoimmune diseases.
2. The GITR/GITRL signaling pathway in autoimmune diseases.
3. Tumor therapy by biological response modifiers.
