· An Individual Award for Best Player In Surgical Skills ( Monica Kharat)

This competition was held for the very first time where international medical students from 28 Medical Universities all over China were put to test their clinical and surgical skills. More than just a competition it was an important opportunity to share our medical knowledge, to help, cooperate, support and know each other in a better way. This competition also helped us to test ourselves to check our capability to manage the situations and challenges in hospitals in limited period of time.

With just two weeks of preparations my team made it possible within a short period of time by working so hard, attending the training sessions and studying everyday with the help of our teachers from Peoples First Hospital (Kangfu) and PHD student Dr. Malik also helped us in every possible way.

The day of competition started with a seminar where all the rules and regulations were explained by the referee committee. In the beginning of the competition oath was taken by all the participants for obeying and respecting the competition. At 9:30am on 9th of December competition started in the medical playground of Tianjin Medical University. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and competitive spirit. All the participants wore their medical scrubs and white coat over it. Every team had 4 stations which contained 6 topics to perform with a limited time period under the observation of five judges. And then the final round took place which had one station. Every team performed well and the competition ended around 3pm. Then there was a speech by the panel of chief guests followed by awarding ceremony.

Me and my team are very grateful towards associate dean of School of Medicine Prof Zhang Xu, Prof Xu Xiao, Prof Huang XinJian and dean of Oec Prof Gao Jing for giving us this great opportunity and for providing us with all the facilities required for our preparations, by supporting and encouraging us throughout the competition.
